Lenten Self Denial Folders

Can you save .25 per day? Can your Sunday School child save .25 per day? That is what the Lenten Self Denial Folders are all about—saving for God’s work. The money saved by members and turned in during Holy Week goes to 2 causes:

Special projects for our missionary, Dennis Murnyak working with the Heifer Project International. We also partially fund their salary from the ELCA but this commitment is usually met through gifts in the monthly “World Missions” envelope.
Requests from Redeemer Lutheran, our mission partner congregation. Their needs are many, and our congregation has played a significant role in keeping Redeemer’s ministry meaningful in the Harrison neighborhood of north Minneapolis.

By the end of January self-denial folders will mailed to all Zion members who used them last year. If you did not receive one and wish to begin this practice as an individual or with your family, extra folders are available at church.
