“Daffodil Days is one of the American Cancer Society’s oldest and most beloved fundraising programs. As the first flower of spring, the daffodil represents hope and renewal. To the American Cancer Society, the daffodil symbolizes the hope we all share for a future where cancer no longer threatens those we love. . . You can provide hope to all people affected by the disease by participating in the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days.”
Daffodil Days 2008 is coming up March 10-14. Donations of daffodils for Zion’s worship services on March 12 & 16 in honor or in memory of loved ones can be arranged through the church office, information desk, or church website. Daffodils are $8 per bunch and need to be ordered by March 10.
Our next two-part new member meeting series will be on Wednesdays, May 14 and 21 from 5-8:00 p.m. New members will be formally received into our congregation on the following Sunday, May 25.
One of the many community organizations that regularly uses Zion’s facilities is Wright County Community Action’s Headstart program. Both Buffalo and Montrose Headstart have preschool classes at Zion all throughout the school year. In February, Jill Pryor, our Building & Grounds Manager visited one of the classes to show them her level, stud finder, drill and other intriguing tools (see photos).
Other organizations that are here on a regular basis include the WIC nutrition program, several support groups, Lutheran Social Services, many scout groups, and Community Bible Study.
Alleluias will be heard as Easter fills our sanctuary and our lives on March 23. This Easter day will be an early spring reflection of the new life we find in Christ.
At Zion, the 40 Days of Community that has been central to our Lenten worship and small group study will be completed. Extend our community by inviting friends, family and neighbors to worship at Zion on a festive Easter day.
Be sure to take note of the Holy Week schedule as we journey with Jesus from the palms and hosanna of Palm Sunday to the cross on Good Friday.

March 21—Good Friday
March 23 —Easter Sunday
Notice that there is a family Good Friday worship offered at Zion at 10:00am on March 21. This worship service is a way to introduce children to the story Jesus’ crucifixion and death in a thoughtful, understandable way.
