Enjoy Your Jelly Beans

Did you get your Easter bag of jelly beans spreading the word about Food For Friends (they were handed out on Easter Sunday)?

The purpose of the jelly bean bags was to personally tell you about this ministry at Zion and let you know that Food for Friends needs your help! (Don’t worry it’s not hard…)

  • First, please let Zion know who could use a meal. If you hesitate to share a need because you think the reason for the meal is personal, no problems – we don’t even need to know the why! But the goal is to help lighten the load – just a little bit, with a meal – for those who need it at Zion.
  • Next, if you think you would enjoy serving in this ministry, sign up now! There are a number of ways to serve and each of them require very minimal time commitment (and when you do get called upon, if timing just isn’t right for you – it’s OK, you can opt out of that opportunity to serve, the next time might work better.) Here are a number of ways to help serve with this ministry:
    • Make and deliver a warm meal (0-3 times a year)
    • Help cook and package freezer meals on a Sat morning (0-3 times a year)
    • Help cook and package freezer meals after Wed night suppers (up to once every 5 weeks when Wed night Suppers are being served)
    • Donate money to fund this ministry (please mark your donation FFF)
    • And, of course, deliver a freezer meal yourself or let Zion know who could use a meal!

It truly is a win-win ministry – those who have received meals from FFF have been very appreciative and those who have provided the meals have also felt very good about the opportunity to serve.

Please contact the church with needs and/or your desire to serve at 682.1245 or office (at) zionbuffalo.org.
