It is with much regret and sadness that the Zion Church Council accepts the resignation of Pastor Steve Svoboda from Zion. Pastor Steve has been an outstanding pastor, servant and advocate for Zion the past 3 1/2 years. He has fulfilled his duties as Associate Pastor with enthusiasm, dedication, commitment and will be deeply missed. Pastor Steve decided to pursue a new opportunity for professional development and growth as he will assume the lead pastor role at a small church in the Cities.
We need to remember that change leads to opportunities, and the council looks forward to new possibilities that this change creates. With the departure of two pastors, the council will re-evaluate the leadership structure of the church and develop a long term plan. The Transition Committee has been working very hard developing a profile of Zion and criteria for a new senior pastor.
The church council would like again to express appreciation to Pastor Steve for his outstanding work and dedication, and wish him continued success as the new pastor of Grace Lutheran church in Bloomington. Thank you for your leadership, your caring and compassionate counseling, and your great sermons.
