A Letter from Dennis Murnyak

Dear Supporting Congregations,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I am writing to give you an update from my last letter written from Tanzania. Since that time we have departed from Tanzania on July 2 and returned to the USA. The departure was not easy in that it was a lot of work to move from a country where I lived for 25 years. There was the house to move out of, belongings to give away, dispose of, sell, or ship to USA. There was work to finish up and responsibilities to turn over. There were farewells to friends and colleagues, and to the country we grew to love. It was an emotionally draining time.

We’ve Still Got Money in the Bank!

A Note from the Finance Committee
Your generous contributions and a substantial estate gift put our congregation in excellent financial condition at the end of 2007. We paid all of our bills; we balanced our accounts between the general fund and the building fund; and we ended the year with significant balances in both the general fund and the building fund.

Despite year-to-date contributions that have not kept pace with our expenses, as of August 31 we still have a bank balance of $5,531 in the general fund and $80,714 in the building fund. We continue to be blessed with generosity. Thank you for your faithful and regular giving.

As we look forward to new programs and renewed ministries this fall, we anticipate with excitement how God will work through us to provide for our needs and the needs of others. We are confident in the future of Zion as we embrace God’s will and trust in his promises.

Will we have another interim Senior Pastor and will the Call Committee be calling more than one pastor to Zion?

These are just some of the questions that Zion members may be wondering about as we await a new Senior Pastor.
