Minnesota All-State Lutheran Choir at Zion

The Minnesota All-State Lutheran Choir is including a concert at Zion in their tour itinerary.

Each year high school students all over the state audition for the 40-65 voice choir. In June, the choir assembles [to] participate in eight days of rehearsal, Bible study and discussion concerning the meaning of the texts they will be singing on the tour.

The concert will be on June 24 at 7:30pm in the Sanctuary. A free-will offering will be collected during intermission.

Zion needs to provide supper for the choir before the concert.  Zion also needs to provide housing for the choir, including some with pet/smoke allergies.  Hosts need to house at least two students.  Students will depart the following morning around 9am.

The up-front cost of this concert is not a budgeted item, but could be covered by five individuals or families that would provide sponsorship of $50 (smaller sponsorship amounts are also welcome).

If you can help provide supper, host students, or would like to help sponsor this concert, please contact Sherilyn.MASLC

This would be helpful information for anyone-whether you are already involved in hospice or if you would just like some information.

Christian Rock Band Seeking Rehearsal Space

A note from one of Zion’s members . . .

My name is Rick Henne and I live in Buffalo.

I am currently starting a Christian Rock band and we need a rehearsal spot. We all have full time jobs so we would need year round access 24/7 but would be playing nights and weekends. We also will not be charging for our performances so we are not taking in any income with this project.

I am looking for a space between 400 and 600 square feet where volume will not be an issue. Read the rest of this entry »
