Good for the Giver Presentation

If you missed Tom Moline’s presentation on Sunday, you can find it at http://zionbuffalo.podbean.com/2007/11/01/good-for-the-giver/

Devotion

Begin with a prayer:
Holy Father, you created a universe far larger than we can begin to understand. We do not deserve the grace that you have given us or the abundance that we have in our lives. In thankfulness we come together as a family and prepare plans to effectively share our time, our talents and our treasures to our community at Zion Lutheran Church and the world. Help us as we dwell on the difficult discussions about money to remember that resources we have in our possession are really yours, entrusted to us for a time. Let our hearts be willing, our hands be open and our tongues be full praise. We ask this with the help of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

My brain started spinning quickly as I tried to figure why she would be telling me this. I already new that Malia was starting Confirmation and I didn’t think this was a big deal. However the next words out of Sue’s mouth were the kicker. “And both you and I are going to be Confirmation guides!”

Whoa – all stop! Rewind! Back the horses up! Read the rest of this entry »
