  • Sunday March 21: Sunday School (5th-6th grapple)*
  • Sunday March 28, Palm Sunday: Sunday School children through grade 4 sing in church during the hour that they usually attend class.

Change for Children

This Lent, Sunday school students are raising Money for Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. When children are admitted to the hospital, it sometimes happens very quickly and parents are left an hour from home and without personal care items while they stay with their sick child. Our gift will help provide things that the families need most. Bring your change on

  • March 7th … and dress backwards
  • March 14th … and wear crazy hair
  • March 21st … and wear Pajamas to church
  • March 28th … and dress your best!

On March 14, there will be a special noisy offering in worship so that the congregation can help the Sunday School children reach their goal of $1200.

Sunday School Singing

January 31, 2010 — Angela

Sunday school children up to 4th grade will sing in worship on Sunday February 28. This is a Sanctuary Sunday which means all children are encouraged to worship with their families. The children have been practicing their songs during opening at Sunday School, and we need all of their voices. Please plan to worship together on that morning.

Did You Get Your Bible?

Building a Well!

Thanks to donations made yesterday, Zion’s Sunday School students have reached their goal in the Change For Children program!

They have raised $1272.61 $1350 (updated 4/29) which is enough to build a well for a community in Nigeria, and the gift will be presented to a representative from Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria at Nigeria Night on Wednesday, April 29. Come and hear what else we can accomplish in partnership with a congregation in Nigeria.

Try Something New

When the new year starts, consider volunteering in Sunday school! We have a few teachers who are pregnant and will be needing to leave our 1st through 4th grade teaching staff very soon. They are really enjoying their positions, and would love to show you the joy of teaching the rotation. With the rotational schedule, teachers can chose to work with activities that fit their interests. Consider a four-week position to see how you like it.

“Shepherds” and substitute shepherds are always needed to just spend time with a small group of children without worrying about what to teach or having to plan a lesson!
